My name is Tristan Hyman, and I am here as a nephew, advocating for my aunt Jarinet Flores. She would never do this for herself because she is always the one helping and taking care of everyone around her. That’s why I feel this is important to share. In 2018 Jari was diagnosed stage 4 appendiceal carcinoma. She underwent aggressive treatment with hipec surgery and miraculously went into remission. However, not without its costs. She has had multiple surgeries since. For 6 years has fought valiantly through the pain, side effects and countless hospital stays, getting back up every time with a smile on her face and a love in her heart for her family that is unmatched. Sadly, it has taken its toll and tragically the cancer has returned. Started on her bladder and has metastasized. Due to this, she is now at the point where there is nothing more the doctors can do. We just learned that she only has weeks to live. My family is praying and believing for a miracle. She is a fighter, but she is tired. My mother, Jocelyn Flores, is taking my siblings and I to go see her in Penn State Medical Center. She is going to be with her sister to take care of her and support her while she must make the most difficult decision anyone has to make. Does she stay in the hospital, remaining on strong meds and TPN, which is what is keeping her alive, but comes with constant pain and vomiting, or does she go to Hospice with only pain management until the time comes. We need all your prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Any support you can give is greatly appreciated and will be used towards the best care for Jarinet and for any funds needed in the near future towards her wishes and plans she wants.
