Jarey’s, the#1sweetie, Gender Affirming Surgery

Hello and thank you for clicking on this link :) Jarey's support group here looking to help our friend (the #1 sweetie) realize who she really is through Gender Affirming Surgery. This surgery is LIVE SAVING for her! Our goal through this fundraiser is to assist Jarey in:

1. meeting her out-of-pocket maximum with insurance by September 6th, 2021, 30 days prior to the time of her surgery scheduled October 5th, 2021 and

2. covering all costs inquired during the month of her recovery period post-operation.

Since moving to Kerrville, TX over four years ago, Jarey has faced so many challenges and overcome so much! She came to this town nearly defeated by addiction, willing to make a change. Now, she is truly an inspiration and captivates us all by exuding strength and love as a proud woman in recovery. While Jarey continues to participate as a sober member of the recovery community, there is and has always been concern for the gender dysphoria she lives with.

Gender Dysphoria is the clinically significant distress she feels due to the mismatch between her gender identity and her sex assigned at birth. Jarey's condition is currently being treated through hormone therapy, counseling, as well as undergoing preparations for gender affirming surgery (a vital step in treating her specific gender dysphoria.) As we mentioned before, we are excited to announce that Jarey's surgery date has been set for October 5th, 2021. This is exciting news!

There is still much to attend to regarding financial concerns as we approach October. Currently, Jarey's Out-of-Pocket Maximum or OOP) is $6,000.00. If Jarey can reach her OOP by the time of her surgery, then she won't have to pay a cent. This is what we all hope for! It is estimated that she will be able to contribute only $3,420.00 herself. That leaves over $2,580.00 needed to reach the first part of our goal!

In addition to the $2,580.00 necessary for surgery related costs, there is also the concern for all other costs associated during the post-operation period. Jarey will be out of work for a whole month where she will be receiving short-term disability. This means that, even if the OOP goal is reached, Jarey will be in a position where food, rent and utilities will not be met due to the nature of her recovery period (she will have to be in bed for the majority of the post-operation period.) That's where you come in.

Any donations made to this fundraiser will go directly to Jarey to cover her OOP maximum as well as the costs related to her food, rent, and utilities while she is bedridden! This surgery is so important to us all because it helps Jarey feel more like herself! Jarey gives so much to our community, and in realizing her true gender identity through gender affirming surgery, she can continue to give back whilst having been treated for a severe factor of her gender dysphoria.
