Jaresiah's Veterinary Wildlife Externship
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jaresiah Williams. I am currently finishing up my 2nd year of veterinary school. I am concentrating on developing my wildlife/zoo medicine background. I have been given the opportunity to attend an externship in Johannesburg, South Africa for 3 weeks this summer. I am extremely excited!. This will give me the chance to gain hands on experience with local wildlife such as, giraffes, antelope, elephant, leopards, and lots more. We will be attending lectures on the efforts being done to conserve the rhino and elephants on the reserve while also helping these animals medically. From, learning husbandry and care, animal safety and handling, biosecurity and hygiene, animal health assessments, first aid, and anesthesia/ surgery and medical techniques while obtaining certificates for these courses to spending days with wildlife vets and game capture specialists to learn how to prepare/operate/and shoot a tranquilizer dart gun while in a helicopter! This is an amazing opportunity that I would love your help and support with! The program includes food, accommodation, ground transport, and activities, which will be around $6000. I could use all the help and support I can get to accomplish this goal! I am hoping to get at least 60 people to donate $100 dollars for me to reach my goal by the deadline of April 7! I say all of this to say, please feel free to give from your heart because every little bit counts!
