My name is Nina. I'm reaching out in behalf of my best friend, Jaren. She was recently diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer. She will be undergoing surgery to have both breasts removed. The closest doctor who takes her insurance and is licensed to perform the DIEP flap reconstruction surgery is in South Carolina. The first visit will require a two week stay. The entire process will require three trips over the course of the next 6 months. As you can imagine, the costs for these trips will add up quickly. Flights, hotels, food, car rental, etc. And this doesn't include the medical bills that will soon start rolling in. Her husband, Jared, owns his own business and will be missing several weeks of work to be by her side during the weeks following each surgery. They have two beautiful daughters, Phoebe and Pyper, who will also be greatly affected by this unfortunate diagnosis. Anything you can contribute would mean a great deal to their sweet family.
