Jarell’s Heart Complication Journey

On May 19th 2021 Jarell was diagnosed with an Aortic Aneurysm. This resulted in him being transported by helicopter to Emory for an emergency Open Heart Surgery. After a 12 hour procedure they were able to repair his Aortic valve and he was released 15 days later.

However, Jarell was still dealing with some complications afterwards. Which resulted in him having to have another Open Heart Surgery repairing his Descending Aorta. He was then hospitalized for an additional 2 weeks before being released.

On October 1,2021 when going in for a follow up appointment, he was readmitted & diagnosed with Heart Failure. He has not yet been released. As of today Jarell is a Status 2 awaiting a Heart Transplant.
