THE LIFE OF
GREGG "JARED" PETERSON
September 30*.
", 2002 - September 19*, 2022
Jared was born on September 30*, 2002, in Aberdeen, Washington.
He was a beloved son, brother, family member and friend. Jared was only 19 years old when we lost him tragically to suicide.
Jared graduated in June of 2021 from Montesano Jr./Sr. High School. He had
also worked at Aberdeen Papa Murphy's from when he was just 16 years old until his passing September 19, 2022. He was dedicated and an extremely hard worker- working part to full time all while attending high school and moving forward working toward his college degree. Jared was attending Grays Harbor College and was about to start a new quarter right before his passing. He was very smart and excelled at his academics.
Jared loved his family and his two dogs Ellie and Lucky. He enjoyed spending time with his family going clam digging, cutting firewood, watching movies, fires on the back deck, and doing other activities together that will be cherished forever. He had a love and passion for music and video games. He was also an avid soccer player - going to the championships two years in a row - winning once.
Jared was such a loving and compassionate person. He trusted easily and loved hard. He cared more about other people than he did for himself. He always tried to help others any way he could, extending a helping hand any way he knew how. He cared for people in the purest way — loving them for who they were and because he wished the best for them, without asking anything in return. He always knew that material things weren't what was important in life.
This Scholarship is established in memory of "Jared" by his parents Gregg & Georgia Peterson. His parents' hope is that recipients of this scholarship will carry on Jared's legacy through their hard work, dedication and support and care for others. Jared was adored by all who knew him. He will always be loved and missed by his family and friends, and this scholarship seeks to keep the memory of Jared alive and honor him by supporting students who are pursuing higher education just as he was.
