Jared Vincent Lang (1985-2023)

Hello, my name is Jordan Lang. We recently lost my brother, Jared Vincent Lang, on Tuesday, January 31st, 2023, following a long and enduring battle with mental health. Jared was born on October 8th, 1985 to the loving parents he was blessed to call his own, Brian Thomas Lang (1959-2016) and Cynthia Lou Lang (Headley). He helped welcome his younger brother, yours truly (Jordan Thomas Lang) a short 3 years into his short life. Jared was a very gifted student who remained at the top of his class throughout his K-12 education within the Tri-Valley Schools Community.

After high school, Jared attended years of further education at Zane State College locally, yet situations in his personal life dictated that his role as a father and a provider come first, so he left school early to provide for his new daughter, Rylee, a year before he was able to complete his degree pursuit. Jared found a new life in his daughter, whom he valued more than anything until the day he left this world. A few years after being blessed with a child of his own, our family suffered an immeasurable loss in 2016 when our father tragically took his own life.

Following this tragic event, Jared's mental health continued to deteriorate as he allowed himself to withdraw from friends and family that had always been there to support him. After years of addiction and depression, my brother slipped into a shell of his former self, and his mental health troubles only progressively worsened. Tragically, he was trapped in a self-deprecating cycle of depression from being away from his beloved daughter for so long which only caused the unhealthy lifestyle choices to worsen, which in turn caused those protecting his daughter from exposing her to witnessing this environment.

My grandmother, mother and I would be very thankful for any monetary donations that you could spare. We know times are difficult for many and completely understand if you are not able to donate, but would like to invite all to attend his memorial on Tuesday, February 7th, 2023 from 2-4pm at Bryan and Hardwick Funeral home in Zanesville, OH 43701.
