On Friday, December 8th 2018, Jared Ewing was involved in a tragic accident caused by a suspected OVI driver in the Flats East Bank of Cleveland. Jared suffered a severe leg injury and has already had two operations on his left leg. As of yesterday, December 11th, 2018, Jared is out of ICU and was moved to the Orthopedic Center for Adult Reconstruction at Cleveland MetroHealth. The doctors are saying the recovery and rehabilitation process will take six months. It will take much longer if the option of amputation is decided.
Jared is an E6 Staff Sargent for the Ohio Army National Guard and works full time in the Communications and Chemical First Responder Unit.
Jared graduated in 2010 from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition.
He recently started running marathons as well. Jared has ran four this year with three of them being within five weeks of each other. He has been dedicated to these runs and training incredibly hard.
We are starting this GoFund Me campaign to help with ongoing expenses that will not be covered by health insurance. He is extremely tough but everyone needs a little help in these extreme situations.
