Jared Sato Lahaina Fire recovery fund

Aloha!

My name is Jared Sato. I’m born and raised on Maui Hawaii. I was living on Front Street Lahaina. My House was one of the many that was burnt down on August 8 2023. I left with just a small bag of clothes. My house was burn down all the way to the foundation. Lahaina is special to me because this is where my family migrated too in the 1800s from Japan. It breaks my heart that almost all of Lahaina was burnt and wiped out. I work in the food and beverage industry as a server/front house manager. I am currently out of work and we won’t be back to work for awhile. Whenever the owner of the restaurant wants to reopen, it’s going to be slow for awhile. Many businesses and houses burnt in the fire. There was already a housing crisis before the fire and now it’s only going to be worse. I am guessing it will take at least 5-10 years for Lahaina to rebuild. And I have no idea how this will impact the tourism. Please keep Lahaina in your prayers. Any donations will be appreciated and help with my bills, restarting and finding a new place to live
