Jared Miettinen’s fight against Multiple Myeloma

Hi, my name is Miranda Miettinen, and I am Jared’s older sister. I am reaching out to all of our friends and family to come together to help Jared, his fiancé Sarah, and their 4 children in a time of need.

It was confirmed on November 9th 2023 that Jared has Multiple Myeloma lgG Kappa. Which is a blood cancer that’s in the marrow and plasma cells, and affects the bones. Sarah has started a Caring Bridge website and has done an amazing job explaining Jared's journey so far, and where Jared is at in his fight with Multiple Myeloma. We believe in the power of prayer and are asking everyone to get prayer chain going to pray for Jared and his family during this time, and for the strength to over come the days and months ahead. With all the unknowns of how he will respond to chemotherapy and his appointments, we are unsure when he will be going back to work as a Union Laborer.

As I sit down to type this, my heart is completely broken into a million pieces! For those of you that have known Jared and I, he is one of the closest people to me in my life. Being only 2 years younger than me, we have been best friends for our whole lives. Not being able to take away this sickness is leaving me feeling helpless while having a strong desire and need to protect him, as I have always tried to do. This has led me to try and help with the financial burden that will fall on Jared and his family because of this diagnosis. To reach out to all who love Jared, and to help ease some of worry about day to day life and future treatments.

If we could all come together to pray, and if you can help finically in any way, I know from the deepest part of my soul that he would be forever grateful.
