Jared Mangelson Medical Support
Jared was camping at the dunes Easter weekend, when he tried driving up a hill in his side by side that quickly became too steep the climb. As he started backing down, he hit a soft spot in the sand that caused them to start rolling. After rolling repeatedly, they were only stopped by hitting into a tree on the hillside. Jared was partially ejected, suffering 9 broken ribs, a lacerated liver, bruised lung, a concussion, and lacerations on his knee and ankle. His passengers suffered some injuries, but are doing okay at this point.
(4/4) Jared was transported to Central Valley Hospital in Nephi, then transported up to Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, where he is still currently in the ICU.
(4/6) He received an epidural injection to help with the pain, and was finally able to eat something. (Italian ice! He said it tasted so good!) They were eventually able to get him up and help him walk a little bit.
(4/7) This morning they placed a chest tube to help drain the fluid that is accumulating in his chest. This is common with any type of trauma. They also put him on a morphine drip to try and control his pain.
We all know how hard Jared works everyday to run his own business (Jared’s Device Repair) but, also how hard he loves, plays, and lives his life every single day. We don’t know how long it will be before he is able to get back to work, and know that he will not only see great financial business losses, but we know how expensive ambulance rides & ICU stays can be as well.
Even the smallest of donations are appreciated & I couldn’t thank everyone enough for all of the funds already sent through Venmo. If that is an easier avenue for you, you are more than welcome to continue to donate that way- my Venmo is @Jordan-Anderson13
Thanks for all of your continued love, support, and prayers! I will keep everyone as updated with Jared’s progress as possible. ♥️
