Updated October 2026
My name is Madeline, I’m the sister and sister-in-law of Casio and Jared Fredrickson. Jared was in a motorcycle accident on May 1, 2026, while on his annual Red Rock Recovery Ride, celebrating his sobriety with his brothers in recovery. Jared was acting to avoid a car accident that was occurring in front of him on State Road 59 in Hurricane, Utah, when he clipped one of the vehicles and ultimately swerved off the road and was thrown from his bike (more information featured on this news story if you want to read it: https://www.stgeorgeutah.com/news/highway-patrol-high-speed-attempt-to-pass-on-sr-59-likely-caused-multi-vehicle-crash/article_0b3b36e3-a21d-4b77-bdb1-8e3f21ed9d48.html).

Thank you to all that have followed Jared’s story thus far. As our family faces the realities of what this accident has caused- we’ve decided to provide an update on the purpose of this fundraiser now (a little less than 6 months down the road).

First, thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and supported our family following the motorcycle accident. We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received, and the donations so far have helped immensely to get through to this point and time. We have the best village of people, so thank you truly.

The accident left Jared with a C4 spinal cord injury and incomplete quadriplegia, two fractures in his neck requiring spinal fusion, and seven fractures in his back, most of which still haven’t healed and continue to cause severe pain. Due to the spinal cord and nerve damage, he still has approximately 85% loss of sensation from his chest down and elbows down, with portions of his hands almost completely numb, severe nerve pain, and significant muscle spasticity affecting the function of his right arm and hand. He is fortunate to be walking again, although his posture, balance, and mobility are still significantly affected. His most recent MRI also identified additional concerns in his neck, including new pressure on his spinal cord, cystic myelomalacia, and bone spurs.

He is currently undergoing physical therapy, occupational therapy, manual therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, PEMF therapy and a few other things all weekly as well as Botox treatments for spasticity. He is expected to need 1–1½ years of rehabilitation to give him the best possible chance of regaining as much mobility, function, and independence as possible.

Financially, Jared and his family have accumulated approximately $82,000 in medical bills, with ongoing recovery and treatment expenses averaging another $7,500 per month. Unfortunately, the individual responsible for the accident fled the scene and still hasn’t been identified, meaning they have not received an insurance settlement from that driver to help cover these costs in anyway.

Jared is a dedicated father, a loving husband, a supportive son and brother, a good friend, and a hard worker. He is the primary source of income for their family, and truly loves his work as a real estate advisor. This accident has truly put him in a hard place, where he needs to sit back and focus on his recovery, when his norm is to focus on being present and available to his family and friends. I know first hand that Jared will do anything he can to help out his friends and family - there really isn’t an ask too big for his kind heart. Now is our opportunity to give back to him and rally around his recovery.

Jared and Casio need help with ongoing medical bills and general living expenses - like bills, housing expenses, food, gas, etc. Every dollar helps while our family works to ensure that Jared can focus on recovery and healing. Thank you in advance for your generosity and love ❤️

Connect with Jared and Casio on Social Media or reach out to them directly if you’re interested in helping in other ways.
