Jared Dixon - Stroke Recovery

I am posting this for my little sister Christine Campanella Dixon - she is too proud to ask but she needs help - On Dec 19th Jared suffered a dissection in his brainstem and resultant 12 strokes.
He had went unresponsive on Monday was intubated and sent down to UHC in Denver, Tuesday was extubated, was finally able to get an MRI Wednesday morning after waiting 16 hours for an order where it was then it was discovered that he had suffered the 12 strokes.
Aside from the regular insurance costs (January fist resets copays resulting is 7,000 VA insurance and 3,000 school district) that they will be amounting due to it being the beginning of a new calendar year, the family has a lot of travel expenses including gas, food, and hotels due to the fact all of Jared's doctors and specialists are in Denver and northern Colorado.
Right now, Christine, along with help from Jared's parents, Lynn and Linda, have been providing 24/7 care for Jared at this time. They are trying to petition for acute rehab but that will only be for a period of 7-12 days. The facility is 56 miles away. Then they would have to travel there three times a week for therapy for 10 weeks minimum. Christine will have to take off work to help provide care for Jared as well to get him to his outpatient therapy appointments which he will be needing. Jared is only able to take FMLA leave so it is without pay. Disability has turned them down since he is not estimated to be unable to work for at least a year which is their cut off.
Prognosis is great for Jared. He is expected to be able to get 80% or more hopefully if previous functioning back within six months. During that time the family will be putting all of their efforts into getting him back to his old self. Any assistance, every $10 adds up and makes a difference in this family's life.
