Jared could really use your help:

Hello old friends:
It has taken me a minute to get this note down. Because this is such a private matter, my brother would likely not want me to do this.
I invited you to this group today to tell you about what has been going on in Jared's life.
Jared is one of the kindest, most loving people I know!
Jared had done well for himself as a day trader and had always wanted to find a way to give back.
Having been born prematurely, he decided his dream job was to be a NICU nurse.
About seven years ago, Jared returned to school and graduated from the NYU accelerated nursing program. He landed his dream job working in the NICU at Columbia Presbyterian.
Soon after starting his job, though, Jared began to feel numbness in his hands, which ultimately led to him having to leave this job.
Soon after the numbness began, Jared began to suffer from other, more severe issues.
We would go on to find out that Jared was suffering from Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis.
It took a year for Jared to be diagnosed with this form of MS. In that year, Jared was not treated with the appropriate medicines, and his disease progressed quite a bit.
Jared is now on the only medicine that exists to help slow down the progression of Primary Progressive MS. Despite that, Jared's disease has continued to progress and is currently attacking his Optic nerves.
At this time, Jared will never be able to return to nursing again.
Jared pivoted for a little and got involved with selling currency and memorabilia on eBay. Jared was doing very well in doing this and could have made a living, but after 18 years of having a perfect record on eBay with thousands of reviews, his account was suddenly permanently closed. While we can't find out exactly why this happened, we have been told that it had to do with the volume of sales Jared did, leading to a higher than average amount of shipments to Jared of counterfeit items, which he ultimately returned, triggering the algorithm to think Jared was abusing ebay by making so many returns. We have tried everything to get him back on, but it's near impossible.
EBay worked because of the chronic fatigue associated with his health issues; now that he no longer has eBay, Jared has had a hard time finding meaningful work in light of his health issues.
Jared met someone a few months ago in the currency space. They were working together, and all was going well. Unfortunately, the guy was holding onto some of Jared's inventory. As I said, he was helping Jared sell it until he stole about 50k of inventory, which Jared was trying to offload to pay for his medical expenses. Furthermore, this guy has stolen Jared's identity, trying to steal what little money Jared has left.
Amazingly, despite our best efforts with the police and prosecutors, holding these people accountable for their actions and getting any remuneration will be tough.
Jared was also in an accident recently and totaled his car.
While Jared would not want me to share any of this, I am sharing all of this because, after all these tough breaks, Jared has lost all HOPE. There is nothing worse than being without HOPE. He has essentially given up, and it has been heartbreaking to watch.
It is so hard when you are dealing with debilitating physical issues to deal with losing your dream job, losing eBay, losing your car, losing the place you were living, having your identity stolen...my heart breaks every day!
This ask does not come easy for me but I am out of ideas and hopeful this could be a way to help Jared.
If you can spare any money, I ask you to consider donating to this GoFundMe page. I know there are so many worthy causes out there, but I can tell you that this money will be used to make a meaningful difference in Jared's life.
He deserves so much better!
PT, OT, and therapy of all kinds are prohibitively expensive, even with insurance. Jared has tried so hard but has been dealt such a terrible hand.
Our family has done everything we can to support Jared. Please consider donating. Please also consider who you know that might contribute to the gofundme as we need to raise as much money as possible to help Jared going forward.
I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH, even for just looking at this note. If you have any questions, please let me know. While I want people to reach out to Jared directly in his current state, he is not in an emotional space to do that.
