My name is Scarlett and as many of you know I'm the lead coordinator for Japanese Chin Club UK's Rescue.

In 2024 we had no rescues come in at all which was brilliant, up until November 2025 we had had 2 girls Duchess and ChoCho through our rescue. I spoke at our AGM in the summer about how our rescue funds were looking relatively healthy and our usual raffles and auctions were keeping it topped up. Fast forward to today (11/1/26) and we currently have 10 Japanese Chins in foster homes around the UK that have arrived through December into January. We have also donated £1000 to a group of Japanese Chins who needed to get out of the war zone and another UK rescue who received 3 chins in their care needing medical treatments.

Our previously healthy rescue pot will not go far if we continue to see a rise in the number of dogs needing help. All dogs are neutered before rehoming and some may need medical care. This is on top of their feeding and maintenance. We also provide ongoing support to our adopters.

We haven't got a club show for a while and I don't want to wait for the funds to get dangerously low to start fundraising for these dogs and the future so I have set up this page. January is a tough month for everyone but if my friends, family and the dog community could spare a pound or the cost of a coffee this week, it would make a huge difference to the rescue. Thank you.
