Japan Exchange 2023

Dear friends and peers,

Since I was a little kid i have always had the dream of going to Japan. Not only for the amazing anime and manga, but also for the culture, philosophy, art and lifestyle.

Now I've gained the opportunity to make this trip through my Academy Willem de Kooning in Rotterdam! They accepted me into the exchange program and after a long process I have also been accepted into a Japanese Art Academy! This is an amazing opportunity for me that I cannot do alone.

I need your help to make this all possible. I am working hard to get together the funds to support myself abroad, since I will not be able/allowed to work in japan on a student visa.

Together with you I would love to make my dream come true. And I want to work hard for it!

Your money will be valued and be used for my art supplies and living expenses.

What will I be doing? I will be attending the Tokyo Zokei University in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. Here I will continue my studies in art. I will be doing research and making art based on the century old techniques of the Ukiyo-e blockprinting (think: 'The Wave at mnt Fuji"). I will be researching and practicing this art for a period of about 5 months. Living expenses will add up to about 1000,-EU each month, together with the plane ticket we have a goal!

I have been dreaming about this for so long and cannot believe it is actually happening!
