Jansen, a nurse for the NHS, has family in the Philippines and they are currently without electricity as their home was hit by a 6.7 earthquake on Tuesday 30 September.
Their home was within 30 miles of the epicenter.
They have made makeshift shelters out of tarpaulins and loose roofing materials in the field and near the roads because the aftershocks are still ongoing and the house is so damaged it’s not safe to go back yet, so they’re sleeping outdoors.
4 local water reservoirs were damaged during the earthquake so there’s no portable water either meaning they have to find their daily water needs through other means.
Due to the lack of electricity and destruction communications are limited but they would require a new electricity generator and some funds to get through the next few months while they rebuild.
It would mean the world if you could assist with whatever you can.
Thank you for reading and your time.
