This page is for my brother, Janseen Hand.

Janseen was diagnosed with inoperable colorectal cancer in June 2020 and has been unable to work much since then. He has been putting up a good fight since having radiation four years ago. He's endured many rounds of chemo, countless surgeries, and several other procedures involving lengthy hospital stays. Jake has a KRAS G12D as well as three other mutations which make his cancer more difficult to treat. Because of this he is seeking alternative treatment in Germany (not covered by his insurance). He was doing well and recovering nicely until a PET Scan in February 2023 showed several new areas of concern. After meeting with a specialist at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Indianapolis for a second opinion, they agreed with his Oncologist in St. Louis that IV chemotherapy should be started as soon as possible. He went to St. Louis every other Thursday for treatments and had a chemo pump for 48 hrs after reach visit to administer additional chemo. He even participated in a trial at NIH in Bathesda, Maryland but wasn't having much success with the chemo and when the trial didn't work he was released from care at NIH. After this is when we found Dr. Aigner @ Medias Klinikum in Burghausen, Germany. So far he has been four times for treatment and it is slowly helping!

He is very determined to beat this but it has been a long 4 years.
