Jannie's Year of Resilience: Helping Reclaim Her Health

My incredibly resilient younger sister has lived with lupus for most of her life, and over this past year, she has overcome a ridiculous amount of lupus and health-related adversity. As her older health professional brother who was inspired to become a family doctor through my sister's health journey, I have personally bore witness to what makes Jannie so strong and truly special. In a year that would have taken down any other person, she has toiled through multiple hospitalizations (12 and counting) and has come out, kicking lupus' butt each time. This woman-boss has pushed through episodes of kidney failure (now on dialysis), respiratory failure, heart failure, brain dysfunction, gut dysfunction, crazy blood pressures... And now, she is awaiting a much needed kidney transplant (her loving and supportive husband is a match!). If you know Jannie well, you would know that she is always helping others in need and does not ask for much in return.
