Janna’s Fight Against Breast Cancer
Spende geschützt
It’s with a heavy heart that I share this news. A few weeks ago my beautiful mother, Janna Jackson, was diagnosed with breast cancer. My mom is a wonderful woman, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. What makes my mom’s story unique is she, along with my step-dad, are small business owners in their community for 26 years. In addition to Covid taking an extremely hard toll on their business this year, they are finding out today that their insurance is not going to cover any of her cancer treatments.
My mom and step-dad have always carried insurance and being self-employed these costs exceed well over $25k annually (and that cost still has $10k deductibles on each of them annually). Back on February 1, my parents switched insurance provides which had critical care coverage, but to lack of their knowledge, had a small clause that said cancer is not covered until you have been a policyholder for over 12 months. At this time, my mom’s cancer is invasive and we do not have time to wait for the 12 months to pass before moving forward with her mastectomy and any other required treatments.
At this time, we know her medical bills will be $150k or more but are being told she can expect treatment bills ranging from $150k-$350k depending on if she needs a double mastectomy (we are awaiting genetic testing results) and radiation or chemotherapy (which will not be known until after the surgery). Our family needs your help!! My mother is the most beautiful, kind, genuine, hard-working woman who is being dealt some incredibly difficult cards right now. The stress of the cancer is enough for anyone, but now the added stress of how she will ever pay for any of this is even more. We would greatly appreciate any contributions you can make to help my mom fight the fight and get back to supporting her community and family. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your support, we will be forever grateful.
