Family and Friends,
I am reaching out as Janna’s family with a hopeful heart. Janna is someone who has always been strong, independent, and giving—often the first to help others and the last to ask for anything herself.
Janna has a diagnosis of chondrosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. Further review has shown it to be intermediate grade, with concerning features that may indicate a higher-grade tumor. We are incredibly grateful that at this time the cancer has not spread. That alone is a blessing we are holding onto tightly.
Chondrosarcoma is exceptionally rare, affecting roughly 1 in 200,000 people each year. When it occurs in the pelvis, treatment is especially complex. Unlike many cancers, chondrosarcoma does not respond well to chemotherapy or radiation, leaving major surgery as the only effective option. Janna’s medical team has determined that she will require a highly specialized surgical procedure involving removal of part of the pelvic bone, followed by intricate reconstruction to preserve stability, mobility, and quality of life.
These types of surgeries are only performed at select centers with extensive expertise, which is why Janna must make numerous trips to the Mayo Clinic for ongoing evaluations, surgical planning, and treatment. Each trip brings mounting expenses—fuel, flights, lodging, meals, and time away from work. No amount of planning truly prepares someone for the financial strain of a medical journey like this.
On behalf of Janna, we are asking for help- humbly and sincerely.
Funds raised will help cover:
• Travel to and from Mayo Clinic
• Lodging and meals during medical appointments
• Out‑of‑pocket medical and recovery expenses
Every donation, prayer, share, and message of encouragement makes a difference. If you are unable to give financially, please know that supporting Janna by sharing this page or keeping her in your prayers means just as much.
Janna is facing this battle with courage, grace, and determination. With the support of her friends, family and loved ones, we are certain she will come through this stronger than ever. Thank you so much for your support.
With love,
Janna’s Family
