Hi, my name is Salli, and I’m writing on behalf of my cousin Janna Krismer.
In 2023, Janna was diagnosed with autonomic failure, a rare condition affecting the autonomic nervous system—the system responsible for regulating essential body functions such as heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, and temperature regulation. Janna isn’t just navigating this diagnosis as a patient; she is also a Registered Nurse, which means she understands the medical complexity of this condition while living with its daily realities.
Autonomic failure has significantly impacted Janna’s health and ability to live and work as she once did. Managing symptoms requires ongoing medical care, frequent appointments, and constant adjustments to daily life. The condition is rare and often misunderstood, making the journey even more challenging.
Janna is also a single mom to her son, Aidan. Everything she does—advocacy, education, and resilience—is rooted in her love for him and her hope that increased awareness will lead to earlier diagnosis, better care, and stronger support for other families facing autonomic disorders.
As both a medical professional and someone living with autonomic failure, Janna is deeply committed to awareness and education. She has recently become a Support Group Facilitator for Saskatchewan and Alberta with Dysautonomia International, an organization dedicated to research, education, and improving outcomes for those affected by autonomic nervous system disorders.
As Janna’s health challenges continue, everyday life has become more physically, emotionally, and financially demanding. This GoFundMe is intended to help ease that burden by supporting medical needs, living expenses, and allowing Janna to focus on her health and her son.
If you’re able to donate, share, or keep Janna and Aidan in your thoughts, it truly means more than we can express.
Thank you for your compassion and support.
— Salli, Janna’s cousin
