Hi, my name is Janiyah Howard. I am a sophomore at Howard University and I am trying to raise $4,000 to help aid with my tuition.

With this being our first semester on campus I chose not to get a job because I wanted to focus on my academic responsibilities and get acclimated to my new environment. My financial situation was being taken care of but there has been a lot of unexpected obstacles that have prevented me from being able to pay off the rest of my tuition. If I am unable to raise the money by January 18th I cannot attend Howard for the Spring 2022 semester. The scholarship I earned will also be taken and that covers the majority of my tuition.

I am asking for $4,000 because my remaining balance is $3,200. GoFundMe does take a fee from my earnings. Therefore, the extra $800 will cover the fee and allow me to be able to purchase any other necessities I may need for college. All earnings will be used for educational purposes.

Howard has opened so many opportunities for me and I have things lined up for the spring semester. I have been selected for Project Destined, a real estate internship, and I am a candidate for the Wells Fargo Diversity Mentorship Program. My journey at Howard is just getting started and I would hate to see it end so soon.
