Janissa’s Care & Recovery From Cardiac Arrest

Dear Friends and Family,

I hope this message finds you well, although my brother, John, and I regret to inform you of a recent and devastating turn of events in our beloved niece Janissa's life.

On Saturday, March 16th, 2024, Janissa experienced a sudden cardiac arrest at the young age of 27 while at work. Despite the swift actions taken by medical professionals, she suffered severe brain damage due to the lack of oxygen during the critical moments before reaching the hospital. As a result, she remains unresponsive and reliant on life support in the Critical Care Unit.

Janissa's mother, Candace Davis, and sister, Janerica Smith, have been by her side every step of the way, providing unwavering love and support. However, their dedication has also meant taking time off work to care for Janissa during this challenging time. With their leave soon coming to an end, they face the prospect of being without income while they continue to care for Janissa.

Many of you may remember Janissa's courageous battle with thyroid cancer in 2021, a battle she valiantly won. Now, as she fights for her life once again, we are calling on our community to come together in support of her and her family.
