Janis’ fight, round 2!

My sister, Janis, was diagnosed with an aggressive type of breast cancer, HER2+, in 2014. Her treatment was very brutal, yet she forged forward with an attitude I had never seen before. Out of work for almost a year, she ended up having to sell her beautiful townhome and move, with her son, into a small 2 bedroom apartment,  just to make ends meets. She fought so hard, with such grace, and ultimately became a 5.5 year breast cancer survivor. 

Several weeks ago, Janis felt a lump in the same breast affected in 2014 and had a biopsy done last week. On March 23, 2020, she received the devastating news that the same aggressive cancer returned. It appears Round 2 will be even harder and more aggressive than Round 1. Although details of her treatment are not set in stone, due to not knowing whether the cancer has spread elsewhere, her oncologist stated a mastectomy, possibly a double mastectomy, is inevitable. 

Sadly, during this crazy time that we are all currently living in, dealing with a changed world because of Covid-19, and so many are personally facing economic struggles, it’s hard to even ask for any type of financial support for Janis.

The thought of her being out of work, again, and losing her apartment, just so she can fight the battle to live, is incredibly unsettling. I’m asking, pleading, for any type of donation possible, so Janis can receive her treatment without having to also worry if she’ll have a place to come home to. If you’re unable to donate, I completely understand; I ask that you pray, pray hard! Pray for her to fight this BEAST once again and WIN!
