Our beautiful, courageous mom, Janis Christensen, is fighting a fight none of us anticipated. Through the past couple years she has undergone multiple surgeries on her foot, her knees and her back. She never let the surgeries or recovery keep her down for long, and there were times she was literally crawling on the ground or up steps to get from one place to another. She didn't want to miss out on the things or people most important to her.

Last week mom was sick, but thought it was a stomach bug and could sleep it off. Thankfully her oldest son's stubbornness matches her own and she was taken to the hospital.

Through a series of tests, it was found that mom developed a severe infection in her foot (the same one from multiple surgeries) and was in septic shock. She was admitted to ICU in Logan where she again underwent multiple surgeries to remove infection from her body.

Today, April 12, 2023, mom was flown to IMC to continue receiving additional care. She is currently sedated and we are hopeful and prayerful that her body will continue fighting and recover.

If you truly know mom, you know her spunk and sass. You also know she is sensitive, loving, and giving, and you would know she wouldn't want this attention on herself. She'll hate me for posting this, but I'm not the favorite daughter anyway, so it's OK. (That's a running joke in our family and I'm pretty sure I just felt mom smack my arm! )

So many have reached out asking how you could help, or what you could do. So although mom wouldn't want this attention on herself, as her children we felt that not only would this GoFundme help ease the financial burden this adventure is creating, but it would also be a way she can feel the love and support of those around her.
