Janine Shaffer is disabled, and living on a limited income. She was living with her mother, and they  were attacked in their home yesterday by a man with a knife. Her mother died. The killer tried to kill Janine too, and she was seriously injured but was tough, fought back, and has survived. 
    Janine feels she cannot live in the same place where her mother was killed, and where she nearly died. She does not have the funds to be able to live in an apartment, but will probably qualify for public senior housing.
   She needs funds to be able to temporarily obtain a small apartment, with first and last months rent, deposit, and to live until she can get into government housing. Small apartments in the area run anywhere from [phone redacted] per month, and with a deposit, we estimate $20,000 should be sufficient for about 1 year. Please give what you can, and tell your friends. She is a strong woman, but really needs some help now. At this time she has not yet been released from the hospital, but she is improving.
