Hello,
Our names are Diane, Marcia and Pamela, and we're appealing to the Village to help our sister Janice Anderson during this time of health challenges.
On February 1st Janice Anderson's alarm went off like it always did at 6 AM; when she didn't answer it, her daughter went in to check on her and found her unresponsive laying across the bed. She was taken to Bayshore Hospital and then ultimately to the Neurology unit at JFK hospital and in a twilight coma. When she woke up from her coma a little over a month later on March 3rd she was without the use of her legs from the waist down.
Initially she didn't know the day, the date or the year. She didn't even know her name. Janice has been wheelchair-bound ever since. Although she spent the last couple of months in the hospital and rehab, she's home now; but there are a lot of items such as ramps, transportation, medical assistance and supplies that are not covered by insurance and have to be paid out of pocket. These costs are catastrophic and this is why we are turning to the Village for assistance through GoFundMe. Any amount is helpful and no amount is too small.
Thank you for your friendship, love and support.
