On behalf of Janet's friends and family, we have created this GoFundMe page for our dear friend, Janet Brasfield.

As a nurse, Janet has dedicated more than 50 years of her life caring for others. Now she needs our support to care for her as she faces a serious health crisis that significantly impacts her daily life.

In 2018, Janet was critically ill when a spinal infection led to sepsis. She suffered grave complications resulting in severe liver damage. After extensive testing in 2024, she was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease. She is currently on the transplant list at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC which is over 200 miles from her home, her family and friends.

While we are praying for a donor, we are also preparing for the out-of-pocket expenses associated with the surgery and recovery stages. In addition, per doctor's orders, her recovery requires her to remain in the Durham area for 30 days after discharge from the hospital.

We are asking for donations to cover the expenses for lodging, food and transportation. This will allow Janet to focus on her recovery.

Janet had her surgery today. It was a success. She is in ICU and will be moved to a step down unit in the transplant area when ready. She will be in the hospital for 1-2 weeks and then will stay in her home away from home for 30 days. Thank you so much for your prayers and support.
