Janet's Cancer Journey Support

We are writing today on behalf of the Nunez family.

Early in 2023, Janet Nunez was diagnosed with breast cancer. She spent the next 10 months battling the ins and outs of appointments, chemotherapy, radiation, a double mastectomy, let alone the physical pain and emotional toll each day would bring.

When it seemed as if this chapter was behind her, and 2024 was going to be a new beginning, in March, after a hospital visit of what was believed to be pneumonia, she found out the fluid around her lungs was cancerous, and within one week, PET Scans revealed the cancer has spread across entire body, other than her brain.

More than that devastating news, Janet is facing an "unknown" when it comes to how much and what all insurance will cover, as she was about to start full time work again, and is unsure of the timing between her benefits lapsing and starting again.

Janet is an extraordinary human being...

She is a RN, who has always brought her patients a caring bedside manner, laughter, levity and hope.

After battling infertility, she is a mother to two beautiful, energetic, bossy, and creative children.

She is a wife, and navigated the ins and outs, early in marriage, of her husband being a marine.

She is fiery, she loyal and she has always been the person to be in everyone else's corner.

She is now facing something with limited treatment option, many unknowns and what feels like every day is gift and a reminder of time.
