We have the unfortunate task of planning a life without our sister, daughter, and mother, Francisca Janeth Cruz.

Janeth passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday October 22, 2025 after a stroke that previous Friday.

On Friday, Janeth called Jewelyn from work to tell her she was not feeling well and had a headache in the back of her head. During the phone call her arm went numb and her words began to slur. 911 was called and she was air lifted to a hospital.

We were told Janeth suffered a stroke in her brainstem that was inoperable and had poor prognosis, but we kept hoping that something, anything would change and Janeth would wake up. Janeth was such a strong person that it was hard to image that she would not pull through.

Janeth was the eldest daughter and a devoted single parent to her daughter Jewelyn. She had a strong presence, strong voice, and a strong heart. Janeth's best friend was her daughter and they were inseparable. Janeth would be turning 46 in December and she still had dreams to fulfill and memories to make.

Sadly, Jewelyn also lost her dad to a heart attack earlier this year. Losing both parents in such a short time is unthinkable and our hearts ache for her.

This fundraiser is to help cover funeral expenses and to provide support to Jewelyn as she navigates this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference and is deeply appreciated by our family.

Tenemos la desafortunada tarea de planear una vida sin nuestra hermana, hija y madre, Francisca Janeth Cruz.

Janeth falleció inesperadamente el miércoles 22 de octubre de 2025 después de un derrame cerebral que ocurrido el viernes anterior.

El viernes, Janeth llamó a Jewelyn desde el trabajo para decirle que no se sentía bien y que tenía un dolor de cabeza. Durante la llamada, su brazo se entumeció y sus palabras comenzaron a arrastrarse. Se llamó al 911 y fue trasladada en helicóptero a un hospital.

Nos dijeron que Janeth había sufrido un derrame cerebral en el tronco encefálico, que era inoperable y tenía un pronóstico desfavorable, pero seguimos esperando que algo, cualquier cosa, cambiara y que Janeth despertara. Janeth era una persona tan fuerte que era difícil imaginar que no lo lograría.

Janeth era la hija mayor y una madre separada dedicada a su hija Jewelyn. Janeth tenía una presencia fuerte, voz fuerte y un corazón fuerte. La mejor amiga de Janeth era su hija y eran inseparables. Janeth cumpliría 46 años en diciembre y todavía tenía sueños que cumplir y recuerdos que crear.

Lamentablemente, Jewelyn también perdió a su padre por un ataque al corazón a principios de este año. Perder a ambos padres en tan poco tiempo es impensable y nuestros corazones duelen por ella.
