Hurricane Ian relief for Janet and Gunter Sengel
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ashley watson and I am Janet’s daughter. My mom and Gunter live in Ft Myers and were hit directly by hurricane Ian. Living on a canal, they experienced catastrophic and unrepairable damage to both homes. The camp was lost completely as it had upwards of 4ft of rushing water come through it. The main house was flooded a half a foot. Everything inside both homes was destroyed. I decided to start this fundraiser in efforts to help them rebuild their lives in the home they loved. They had full dwelling and flood insurance through fidelity at the “camp”which went bankrupt and left Florida and has not provided them and hundreds of others with assistance. The main house was high enough above sea level that flood insurance wasn’t deemed necessary. We are working on their FEMA application which I will complete for her since they currently have no internet. Any donations will be put towards the disaster cleanup company’s fee of $30,000 which is out of pocket, new furniture, cleaning supplies, food items, transportation and any rebuilding/flooring expenses. There is no obligation and we would never want anyone to feel that. A well wish and message of love and well-being is just as meaningful. We are so fortunate that most importantly they are safe. Thank you, love you all!
