Janet Davis Cancer Recovery
Donation protected
Only four short weeks after the life-shattering, unanticipated sudden death of her beloved husband of 37 years, Paul, Janet was diagnosed with esophageal cancer, a particularly aggressive and difficult foe. In deep mourning, and with her income drastically reduced, she has proved herself a formidable warrior in spite of trials that would subdue even a mildly frailer person.
Having undergone lengthy chemotherapy and radiation treatments, the next step is surgery, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, October 18, 2019. It remains to be seen if the surgery will be covered by insurance or possible grants.
Meanwhile, despite the grand generosity and support of her sister and brother-in-law, despite selling her cars and many of her possessions, basic funds are an ongoing critical need. Janet has a tiny portion of her income that puts her beyond the help of nearly all government assistance programs, while also falling short of her modest budget. That brings us to the purpose of this GoFundMe: at minimum, for several months following surgery, assuming it’s successful and allowing for a standard recovery time, what will be most needed is funding to cover the gap between monetary intake and required outflow. We are hoping that enough of her many, many friends will be able to help Janet through her upcoming recuperation so she can focus on regaining her health.
No contribution is too small and every one will be gratefully appreciated, not only by my cousin, Janet, but by all of her friends and family. Thank you!
