Hi my name is Linda and I'm creating a memorial fundraiser for my sissy. The picture above was June 24, 2023 as we celebrated the engagement of my niece Whitney. It was such a wonderful occasion and I'd never seen my sissy more happy.

My sister Janet was an amazing mom, daughter, sister and friend. So many have talked about her sweet spirit, her kind soul, that she was a mom to the friends of all her girls and just a joy to be around. She always had a smile and radiated love to all. This was evidenced by the outpouring of prayers and everyone rallying for her to wake up and come back to us. No one could have expected that a simple dental procedure would result in a horrific anoxic brain injury.

Many of you have inquired about funeral arrangements and services. As you know, without a Will, Power of Attorney or some legal written notice of your wishes, the spouse maintains full control. Such is the case with my sister. He has control of her body and the option of a funeral. Whatever is planned, our family has not been asked or invited. And that’s ok. Proverbs 15:3 says, ‘The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good’. I leave that issue in God’s hands.

Therefore, in the loving memory of my sister Janet, in lieu of flowers or flights, I’m inviting you to join in honoring her legacy by contributing to a memorial fund. The donations will go to her girls Whitney, Paige and Trinitee. My sister nicknamed them Precious, Princess and Pooh aka My 3 Peez. Trinitee is 19 and she’s taking a break from college. Despite Whitney raising her son Karter and planning a wedding, and Paige being the caretaker of her Dad, they have both picked up the torch as moms to support Trinitee until she gets on her feet. Whatever is in your heart to give is appreciated and I thank you in advance.

One last request. If you don’t have a Will, Medical Directive, Power of Attorney or Life Insurance don’t delay. Tomorrow is a maybe. And when thinking about who to give that power to, be certain to give it to someone that you know truly loves you and has your best interest at heart.
