Janelle's Neuro Recovery - Decena Family
Donation protected
Hi family and friends! For those of you who don't know, my little sister Janelle (Naynay) has been hospitalized in the ICU since Oct. 30th. That day, what we thought was a normal headache quickly became a medical emergency. She woke up complaining of a pounding headache and was repeatedly vomiting, eventually laying on the floor slurring her words and barely responsive. We called 911 and she was brought to Temecula Valley Hospital.
Her neurological scans showed she was born with a congenital abnormality of vascular malformation in the brain vessels, which led to a double brain bleed. She was then intubated on a breathing tube, her brain was open so her intercranial pressure (ICP) was being monitored, and put in an induced coma where they performed neurological surgery to temporarily stop the bleeding.
She has to go through more surgeries to permanently stop the brain bleed and prevent any future complications. After the surgeries, she still has to undergo physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and overall rehabilitation.
We started this GoFundMe in hopes to raise money for Janelle's brain surgeries and overall recovery. We're facing financial restraints from my parents being away from work to be there for Naynay through her recovery as well, so we're hoping to raise money to help my parents pay for her brain surgeries, physical therapy, and overall rehabilitation. We’re unsure of how long she's going to take to recover entirely or be discharged, so anything donated here is going to go towards all efforts to get Janaynay to her best self again ❤️
If you're able to donate, please consider sending any donations either through the following:
Venmo: @Jennifer-Decena or @jaelyndecena

We only ask because there's platform fees with GoFundMe, but if you're more comfortable donating here that's more than okay too. Anything helps us significantly If you aren't able to donate, please share this with your family and friends. Thank you all so much for your prayers and please keep praying for her full recovery. ❤️
