Jane's 50th Birthday Fundraiser
Thank you for helping us build a new dedicated film studio in the Snowdon Hall!
As Jane said, 'For the past 30 years, I have been honoured to be part of the Dru team. Even in interesting times, I have witnessed thousands of people finding inspiration, health and hope from Dru’s courses, both in Snowdonia and all over the world. I’ve delighted in teaching yoga, meditation, sound and spirituality to people of all ages, from teenagers to the elderly. Now that I’m approaching my 50th birthday on 19th July, I’d like to give something back to help even more people benefit from Dru’s transforming courses. Will you join me?
As the coronavirus pandemic has affected all our lives, one surprising opportunity has been the growth of our work online. Even though we have offered the Dru Yoga online classes for many years, during lockdown I have witnessed how many people we can touch through online courses. On the recent online courses, we have welcomed people from New Zealand, Canada, Kenya and all over Europe – people who would never normally get a chance to attend our courses in Wales. They have been inspired and motivated to be the change they wish to see in the world.
I was so touched by Leisa Mererid’s feedback after doing her first online course with us last month. ‘Initially, I was worried about doing a course online as I'm very much a people person, I'm tactile and a slight technophobe. I wasn't sure how the course would translate to the screen and I feared that It would be less personal. But I was amazed at the depth of connection that I felt. As we all came together to meditate, all of us dotted around the world, I felt a great sense of connection which surpassed all expectation. It was truly a humbling experience, one I will never forget.’
As we develop our online courses, we are currently limited by only having one temporary suitable yoga studio in the Welcome Centre, when some weekends we are teaching two or more online teacher training modules at the same time. Will you help me create a new filming studio to inspire many thousands more people across the world?
What we are proposing is to turn the Snowdon Hall into a dedicated film studio. It will enable us to run at least two online courses at a professional level at the same time, and it will have an area for our daily Instagram lives and an outside filming kit. And because all these courses will be professionally recorded and filmed, they will create a legacy of transformation.
Anouschka and her team are researching the most effective economical equipment and obtaining quotes for camera, lights, sound and studio setup, at a cost of approximately £12,000. For my 50th Birthday on 19th July, rather than receiving personal gifts, I would so love to create a lasting legacy with you that will benefit thousands of people. I would love my birthday gift to benefit the world through the creation of this new studio. Will you help create that legacy with me?
As a social enterprise, Dru’s funding of such a big investment would be a big challenge. We have investigated what innovation grants are available, but they will only cover a small percentage of this project. That’s why on my birthday I wanted to ask your help in raising the money necessary to complete this project.
Would you consider a gift of £10, £20, £50 or £100 to build a new studio at the Lodge? For any contribution of £500 or more, I will personally offer you a free Sound Healing or Vedic Astrology session as a thank you.
Together I know that we can reach this goal. Thank you for caring and making it possible for Dru to provide an even better experience for the thousands of people who will attend our online courses in the future.
With all my love,
Jane Saraswati Clapham
