My Aunt Jane passed away unexpectedly, and was found in her home, which had been ransacked. The police are still investigating.

The doors to the house were left open, and her cats, many with special needs and health challenges, including being FIV+, had escaped the house. Some have since returned, but are especially traumatized.

Since my aunt had apparently died some time before the police were called, a biohazard unit had to come in to clean the house.

My mother and I traveled from out of state to meet with the police, to try to find homes for her cats, and to make funeral arrangements. We have not been able to locate any life insurance policies, and due to the circumstances of her death, we are not able to access any of her accounts, and will not be able to do so for some time,until the Death Certificates have been issued, possibly 30-90 days, and well after the funeral. We are cremating her body, and taking her back to Lubbock, be buried with the rest of our family.

The expenses to pay for the cleaning of her house, her funeral expenses, travel and lodging while in New Orleans, and caring for her cats, have been overwhelming, and we need help. My mother and I have been paying for everything, as much as possible, but need help paying for her funeral expenses.
