Jane’s Journey Home

Donation protected

On September 11th, 2020, Jane Ling suffered from a ruptured 8 mm anterior commuting artery aneurysm, with an intraparenchymal hemorrhage collection, a subarachnoid hemorrhage, and hemorrhagic stroke. The aneurysm damaged multiple layers of her brain and has severely impacted her quality of life.

Jane’s aneurysm, and hemorrhaging, were so severe that she was in “catastrophic condition” when she initially arrived at the hospital. According to her doctors, she should have never even made it to the hospital...she should have died on her bathroom floor when the aneurysm ruptured. Fortunately, Jesus had other plans!

Northeast Georgia Braselton immediately life flighted Jane to Wellstar Marietta Hospital,  where neurosurgeon, Dr. Gupta, was able to save her life by performing emergency brain surgery. After the surgery, Jane was placed in Neuro ICU in critical condition.

During Jane’s time in ICU, she underwent two additional brain surgeries; a total of three brain surgeries within two weeks.

Jane has now been released from the hospital, however, she requires twenty-four hour, round-the-clock care. She is in an extensive physical therapy and cognitive therapy program so she can regain her strength, and work towards living a normal life. Since she does have a severe brain injury, her recovery is going to take time and patience.

At this time, Jane is being cared for by her daughter, Amber. If everything goes perfectly, with no hiccups, Jane may be able to return to her own home in three months or so. Obviously, she will not be able to work, or drive, or earn an income during this period of recovery.  Being without funds for an extended period of time is very stressful in itself, on top of the medical bills that are undoubtedly on their way...

Jane’s family is all out-of-state, so she will be solely reliant on Amber and her therapists until she can get back on her own two feet. Even with insurance, this journey is going to require a lot of expense that nobody could have been prepared for. We understand that 2020 has been especially difficult on so many, for so many different reasons. We don’t want to be insensitive to the issues that others are facing - but if you are in a position to be a blessing, Jane and her family would be very grateful. In these difficult times, we are asking God to provide, and to send the helpers.

Our goal is to keep Jane’s house up-and-running, because she is striving and working very hard to regain her independence. All donations are tax deductible, and will go towards Jane’s medical expenses, her therapy, her recovery expenses, towards maintaining her own personal property, purchasing any home healthcare items that insurance won’t cover, and any other out-of-pocket expenses related to her disability that are quickly arising. It would be absolutely devastating to Jane if she were to face losing her home, as moving “home” is her PRIMARY long-term goal. We are hopeful that we can bless Jane so that she doesn’t have to worry about where she will live, or how she is going to pay her bills. If we can ease some of her stress, it will allow her mind to rest...and heal.

The brain is a tricky and wonderful thing. We are praying that Jane’s brain will begin to fire onall cylinders soon, so that she can get back to her home, her Harley, serving at church, and walking her beloved dog, Gizmo. If you are able to help support Jane on her journey, we would like to thank you in advance. If you aren’t in a position to help financially, we would like you toknow that we are praying for you. We are praying for better days for everyone.

Thank you all so much...
