If you've pursued an education, consumed the news or worked in either of these industries in northwestern Illinois, it's likely you've crossed paths with Jane Lethlean. Jane is a dedicated writer, photographer, and familiar face at both Highland Community College and the Freeport Journal-Standard. She is a dog mom, devoted friend and family member, and loyal member of the community where she has resided her whole life. Now, it's time for us to give back to her.

In August 2022, Jane had a medical emergency and underwent a life-saving surgery. Because she is underinsured and relies partially on freelance income, her costs for this critical care are quickly becoming exorbitant.
