Welcome to the 2023 Team JandyStrong Fundraising Page!
This year looks a little different, as Jake has not one, but two exciting events upcoming!!
• On Sunday, October 1st, Jake Anderson will be handcycling his customized tandem trike, with friend Jack Egbert as captain, in the Twin Cities Marathon.
• On December 13th, Jake, along with a close group of family and friends, will embark on a safari trip to Tanzania, Africa, where they will also visit a workshop employing locals with disabilities.

Twin Cities Marathon Info:
For the 2nd straight year, Jake & Jack will be cycling 26.2 miles from Minneapolis to St. Paul… but this time there’s competition! With Jake having his own tandem trike, and the original trike borrowed from UW-Madison, another tandem duo will be taking part in the event. Jordan Bolton (fellow quadriplegic athlete) and Josh Nix (adaptive fitness trainer) are up for the challenge. It’s amazing to see this hobby of Jake’s turning into a sport of its own!
Twin Cities Marathon weekend marks the 9-year anniversary of the diving accident that left Jake paralyzed from the chest down. We are continuing this tradition of raising money for paralysis research and cure advocacy, in support of Jake, Jordan, and others doing everything in their power to recover from spinal cord injury.
Unite 2 Fight Paralysis is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to unite and enable the international spinal cord injury community to cure paralysis through advocacy, education, and support for research.
Tanzania Trip Info:
As Jake’s health and support allowed him to venture further from home, he says travel has been a fulfilling expression of his progress and desire to push physical boundaries. Starting with a flight to Chicago in 2015 for the inaugural JandyStrong Chicago Half Marathon, travel has taken him from Denver to Madison, New York to San Diego, and Mexico to Europe. Now, Jake will be traveling with a group of family and friends to Tanzania for an African Safari adventure!
In addition to experiencing the Serengeti wildlife and the Maasai culture, Jake will be touring a local artisan workshop SANAA, which employs differently-abled individuals who make extraordinary works. SANAA is, in their words, a celebration of all that is good, beautiful, Tanzanian, and kind. Funds will be donated to SANAA’s partner NGO, Born to Learn, and ultimately support workers in need of assistive devices (wheelchairs, crutches, special shoes, etc).
Please consider donating, sharing the GoFundMe, and supporting Team JandyStrong at the Twin Cities Marathon and across the globe!
