Welcome to the 8th annual Team JandyStrong Fundraising Page!
On Sunday October 2, Jake Anderson will be handcycling his customized tandem trike – with friend and UW-Madison roommate, Jack Egbert, as captain – in the 26.2 mile Twin Cities Marathon. This will be Jake’s longest ride yet, at twice the length of his original Half Marathon goal.
Team JandyStrong’s virtual fundraiser will take place from Sunday 9/25 through Wednesday 10/12, with two primary goals:
- Raise $10,000 for our nonprofit partners accelerating Spinal Cord Injury research
- Raise awareness about SCI recovery and promising research in the field
The race from Minneapolis to St. Paul falls on the 8-year anniversary week of a diving accident that left Jake paralyzed from the chest down. We are continuing this tradition to raise money for paralysis research and cure advocacy, in support of Jake, and others, working tirelessly to recover from spinal cord injury.
Please consider donating, sharing the GoFundMe, and supporting Jake and Jack, as they represent Team JandyStrong at the Twin Cities Marathon!
ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE and will be directed toward two nonprofit organizations doing critical work to advance Spinal Cord Injury research. Here is a quick breakdown of exactly where your donation will go:
50% to Unite 2 Fight Paralysis (U2FP Website)
50% to Get Up Stand Up to Cure Paralysis (GUSU2CURE Website )
