Peace and Blessings. On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, we lost an amazing Father Husband Brother Friend and Islamic Pioneer named Brother Lukman Shabazz aka Brother Luther Shabazz aka The Bean Pie Man.
Brother Lukman had a hard fight with terminal cancer. We are asking for donations for the funeral because we don't have any type of insurance.
My family and I are creating this account to reach out to friends, family members, believers, and prayer warriors, because as we deal with such an enormous loss, we also are having to go through the process of raising funds for planning his memorial service and a burial.
Brother Lukman was a entrepreneur a true soldier and definition of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad's teachings of "Do for Self."
He opened up several businesses including Authentic & Shabazz Bakery where he made his world famous bean pie. This pie was featured in several stores, such as Ralphs, Food 4 Less, Vons, Fatburger, 7-Eleven, and other neighborhood markets. He also opened Mems school (Mr Elijah Muhammad School), A bookstore called Books Herbs and Things, opened Lukman's Ice Cream Parlor where he sold his delicious Navy Bean Cream Ice Cream. He even opened a Jazz club, and much much more. He made jobs for his children, other believers, and the people in the community. He fed the homeless, donated to several entities, and gave back to the community.
We ask everyone to support with our fundraising effort to offer Bro Lukman a proper funeral and burial service. Any donation no matter how small is greatly appreciated. If everyone does a little, no one has to do a lot. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this message.
