I'm a professional harpist. I perform at restaurants, house concerts, grocery stores (Kroger every Sat!), teach lessons, weddings, funerals. In short, I make a living from my craft. I'm trying to raise money to help purchase a new harp as the one I'm using is quite old and won't last much longer. The harp I'm trying to purchase is a Camac ElectroAcoustic model- which means it has pickups built in to every string so you can plug it in to an amplifier or play it acoustically. The specific harp is called Camac Big Blue. You can find it by going to Virginia Harp Center or click the link below. As you will see when you click on the price list the retail is almost right at $30,000. I believe I can save the last $10,000 of the price myself. But, I will need help with the bulk of the cost and that's where you, my friends, come in. Any amount you are able to give will be put toward my goal of owning Big Blue. In return, I will send you a copy of my new CD, On the Road, a compilation of original music by me and my arrangements of some of my favorite classic rock tunes, like Nothing Else Matters by Mettalica. The CD is currently being pressed and will be available in two weeks. It features my harp/guitar duo, Groove Machine. My guitarist is the incomparable Casey Harshbarger.
Why am I using GoFundMe? Simply put, I make just enough to pay my rent, utilities, food, and pay a small amount towards my teenage son's clothes on my own.
