Janaki needs surgery soon. Please help!

The small black cat showed up at Ihsan's door crying. She was in terrible shape, shivering, coughing, covered in mud and worse. Half her tail had no fur on it and appeared lifeless. Ihsan took her in and named her Janaki. He also contacted Hyde Park Cats, which arranged for her to see a vet. X-rays at Hyde Park Animal Clinic revealed her tail was fractured near the base, causing pressure on the anal canal. To survive, Janaki needs surgery to remove the fracture and her tail, which hasn’t been getting sufficient blood flow. Her rescuer cannot afford the nearly $3,000 bill and has reached out to his family and friends for financial assistance. We are helping him raise the rest. Please help us help Janaki!
More information about Hyde Park Cats: Hyde Park Cats is a confederation of volunteers working to improve the lives of feral, stray, and needy cats and kittens in and around Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood. We have arranged more than 1,500 adoptions since our founding in 2008. All the cats we help are spayed or neutered before adoption to reduce the population of homeless cats. We take in abandoned friendly cats from the street and rehome them. When space permits, we admit cats from open-access shelters, reducing the number of healthy cats who are euthanized.
