Janis Solomon (1941-2021) was a scientist, an educator, and a strong advocate for the disenfranchised. Despite the challenges of generational inequities for women, she pursued a career in marine biology in the early 1960s. Her courage, fortitude and generosity paved the way for many young men and women.

In Jan's memory, her family is pledging to help other young women with financial need pursue an education in the sciences through the East Hampton Rotary Club Scholarship Fund. Please join us in this effort by making a donation to help the next generation of Janis Solomons.
