She is survived by her sister Debra Burks, her niece Katie Burks, and me her daughter, Nora Yost.

Hello Friends and Family,

I don’t even know what to say or how. I found out yesterday 11/12/19 that my mom Jan Mercier passed away. I can’t even fully comprehend it yet.  She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is just gone too soon. 

I'm incredibly thankful for so many things and also upset about the things I'm going to miss because she's gone. The main thing that I am beyond happy about and thankful for is that she got to become a grandma and meet her grandson. She loved George so much she often said she "just couldn't stand it". I’m so glad that she got to spend time with our son George just two months before she passed away. She was so proud to be a grandma. 

My mother was a musician through and through. She loved to play the piano and sing at her church Yakima Bethel Church of the Nazarene.  She often sang for the children at the church and performed puppet shows with a puppet she made called Keyboard Kitty. I got to speak with the pastor of the church Jim Beattie and he offered to hold a memorial service for her, I'm not sure of when or what time but I will update this page when I know more. 

My mother was a wonderful woman full of joy. She lived a full life and showed love to everyone she met. 

I’m going to be figuring out a way to get to Yakima to handle everything in the next week. I am making this Go Fund Me page to cover costs of travel, the memorial, cremation and my time off of work. I do not get bereavement pay and funds in our little family are tight as is. 

I am hoping that with your help I will not have to go into debt to pay for my mother's memorial costs.  If we can get enough help we (Don, me and our baby) would like to travel all together to Yakima to handle my mothers affairs. If we can't afford it then I will be traveling without Don to Yakima. 

Below is a breakdown of the costs:
Cremation: $988.83
Costs for travel: $800.00
Flowers for the memorial: $200.00
My time off of work: $400.00
Don's time off of work: $400.00
Total: $2,788.83

I'm rounding up to $3,000.00 because I would like to have a few things made for family members if we can afford it. I would like to order some blankets with pictures printed on them and possibly some kind of pendent with her ashes in it.
