Jan (Fafard) Burnsed Memorial Fund

Jan (Fafard) Burnsed unexpectedly passed away on September 21, 2019. She was a loving mother, granny, sister, and friend. A bright light in the darkness for so many, saying she will be missed is an understatement. Her contagious laughter, caring heart, loving commitment to her daughter and grandchildren, and her compassion to help others will never be forgotten. 

Jan wasn’t just my sister’s mom. To me she was so much more.  I would tell her she is my “other mother” and she’d call me her “other daughter”. I will forever cherish the love and bond shared between her and I. Jan was a loving and steady confidant for myself, as I’m sure she was with so many more. She helped me through many difficult times with love in her heart and for that I will forever be grateful. 

Her passing was was completely unexpected and has her only child, Amanda,  trying to grasp what is now her reality. Leaving so unexpectedly, there were no preparations made to pay for funeral expenses- Jan did not have a life insurance policy, nor did she have much of any money in her bank account. The last thing Jan would ever want is for Amanda to have to stress and worry about trying to figure out how to come up with the means to put her mom’s earthly body at peace. For all that Jan means to me and for all that she has done for me, I am reaching out to all of those who have been touched by Jan’s bright light to ask that you please help me honor her life in the best way that we can right now-  This morning we went to Hixson Funeral Home in Sulphur, LA to make Jan’s arrangements. As of now a Celebration of Jan’s life is set for October 9, 2019, but a payment in-full is needed before they will cremate her (and that needs to be done at least a few days before the services).
