Jammin' for New Orleans

JazzAscona festival has been focusing on jazz music and New Orleans Beat since 1985.
Due to the current situation and Covid-19 emergency, its 36th edition edition will not take place in 2020 but since the new guidelines allow small events and indoor gatherings, JazzAscona has decided to bring music to town during the weekends in which the 36th edition should have taken place (from June 26 to July 4, 2020), the initiative is called "Jammin' for New Orleans”:
Local bands will animate the bars, restaurants of Ascona with numerous semi-acoustic sets.
The event is free, but the public will have the opportunity to make a free offer in order to support all those New Orleans musicians who should have played in Ascona during those days but are unable to travel and are currently facing difficult times.
The attending musicians will play for those who can’t be there, strengthening the bond and creating a musical bridge of solidarity between the Mississippi and Lake Maggiore.

JazzAscona è un festival che da 36 anni mette in luce la musica afroamericana ed il New Orleans Beat.
A causa dell'emergenza Covid-19, l'edizione 2020 non avrà luogo ma, grazie alle nuove direttive, proprio nel periodo in cui doveva svolgersi la 36. edizione (dal 26 giugno al 4 luglio 2020), JazzAscona ha deciso di proporre l'iniziativa "Jammin' for New Orleans": diverse band locali animeranno bar, ristoranti di Ascona con concerti semi-acustici.
L'evento è gratuito, ma il pubblico avrà la possibilità di effettuare un'offerta libera a favore dei musicisti di New Orleans che sarebbero dovuti essere presenti ad Ascona proprio durante quei giorni e sono al momento fortemente penalizzati dalla situazione.
I musicisti presenti suoneranno a favore dei musicisti assenti, creando un ponte di solidarietà musicale per unire le rive del Mississippi a quelle del lago Maggiore, come è tradizione da decenni.
