Hi, my name is Rachel Olmanson. I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of James (Jamma) Connell and his family (wife, Sara and sons, Riley and Aiden).

On Monday, December 18, Jamma went to the ER because he wasn't feeling well. Tests determined that Jamma had pulmonary embolisms and many tumors in his liver, lungs, peritoneum and lymph nodes. This is devastating news to receive, especially this time of the year. Jamma is a fighter. He is determined to do whatever is necessary to to try and beat the cancer. This will be difficult journey for him and his family. The boys have been down this road before after their mother's breast cancer diagnosis in 2017 and they now need to go down it a second time as their dad starts his fight against cancer.

Several people have asked how they can help. Jamma has had to cut back his work hours as he rests and prepares to learn about the next steps to try to fight the cancer throughout his body. In order to help them with finances as he starts cancer treatments and so his family can be with him as much a possible, we are hoping this fundraiser can alleviate some of their financial worries. Funds will be used to help pay bills, pay for needs associated with travel to and from appointments, help with meal costs, etc. There are so many worries they have right now and I am hoping friends, family and strangers will come together to help them alleviate some of their financial worries during this difficult time. Any and all donations will be appreciated.

12/27/2023 - Thank you for all the donations given so far. They are greatly appreciated. Jamma is still waiting on results from a biopsy taken while he was a patient in the ER/hospital. He also has tests scheduled in a week or two. We will continue to provide updates as we get them.

12/31/23 Update:

Jamma scheduled to get a port place this week, meet with the oncologist, get a PET scan, and start chemo. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

Thank you for all the support for Jamma, Sara, and their boys during this difficult time. The love and support given since Jamma received his diagnosis almost a year ago has been a tremendous blessing and I can’t thank you enough. I have cried so many times for Jamma and his family because of the cancer diagnosis. Jamma is such a kind and caring man. It is hard to see him and his family go through this. I have also cried tears of gratitude so many times because of the kindness of family, friends, and good samaritans. The donations of money, food, and acts of kindness have helped them tremendously, especially when Sara misses work to take care of and spend time with Jamma. I am hoping that during this difficult time as Jamma starts hospice, Sara has the opportunity to stay home with Jamma as much as possible in the coming days. Thank you for all the love, hope, peace, and joy you have given throughout this past year and during this Christmas season. You are all a blessing!
