Everyone’s birth story is unique, it’s some of what makes us all individuals. What we all hope to have in common is taking a happy, healthy baby home from the hospital. We’re all working on helping Jade & Jared make that a reality.

Jamison was born in the early hours of March 30th after Jade labored at home for 22 hours. Immediately upon entering the world it was evident he was having some challenges. He was immediately placed on an antibiotic for a bacterial infection in his blood and he was given oxygen to help manage his breathing difficulties.

After just 4 days of life it became obvious that the initial hospital couldn’t provide the care he would need so he took a quick ambulance ride to Evanston hospital where he currently still resides.

At Day 10 we were hopeful he’d come home to us but in the morning had what the doctors referred to as a “Cardiac Episode”. His heart rate was elevated and irregular for 3 minutes. The physicians performed and EKG, an ultrasound as well as a holter jacket, which fortunately came back negative but did not reveal any indicators as to why this occurred.

During this entire time he’s been fed through a tube and bottle. Jade & Jared traveled back and forth from the hospital, often 4 times daily so Jade could pump and provide food for Jamison.

At 13 days old he had another “Cardiac Episode” where his heart rate was abnormal and accelerated - this time lasting an hour. He required medication to regulate it and fortunately returned to normal. He’s been diagnosed with SVT and prescribed medication for at least 6 months. He will also need to be monitored by a pediatric cardiologist during this time.

As you can imagine as we celebrate his 2 week birthday we’re a mix of emotions - excited, worried, sleep deprived and anxious. We’re all hoping he comes home next week and his monitoring is successful.

It’s my hope with this GoFundMe J3D3 can focus on the celebration of life, getting to know each other and establishing new family habits and not worry about how to pay for the mounting and future medical bills including birth, almost 3 weeks in the NICU, an ambulance ride, advanced cardiac testing and future medication & monitoring by a pediatric cardiologist.

Anything you can give is appreciated - whether it be dollars or prayers. Thank you for your calls, emails, thoughts and prayers. We’re all in this together.

Love,

Jordan
